Oriental Institute of Science & Technology (OIST), Bhopal organised a One Week Offline Faculty Development Program on Outcome-Based Teaching & Learning from 16 to 21 February 2026. The Faculty Development Program (FDP) was designed to strengthen faculty members' understanding of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and help them adopt learner-centric, measurable and outcome-oriented approaches in academic teaching and assessment. The programme was conducted at the EC Seminar Hall and focused on improving academic processes in line with the requirements and expectations associated with NBA accreditation criteria. Objectives of the FDP The programme aimed to enhance the knowledge and capabilities of faculty members in implementing Outcome-Based Education effectively. The key objectives included: Strengthening understanding of the OBE framework. Developing effective alignment between Course Outcomes (COs) and Programme Outcomes (POs). Improving assessment and outcome-attainment strategies. Enhancing academic documentation and quality practices. Promoting learner-centric teaching methodologies. Developing measurable and impactful academic processes. Understanding Outcome-Based Education Outcome-Based Education focuses on what students are expected to learn, understand and achieve after completing a course or programme. Instead of focusing only on the teaching process, OBE emphasises measurable learning outcomes and the extent to which students achieve those outcomes. Through the FDP, faculty members were encouraged to understand how course planning, teaching methodologies, assessment methods and academic documentation can be connected with clearly defined learning outcomes.
